Software Engineering Boards

Has anybody got suggestions for a better wiki engine? Dokuwiki is great but it's slow (well, it's slow on this server!) and hard to manage user access. Please get in touch harold@thimbleby.net

Improving scientific software

Can Software Engineering Boards (which might be a little bit like but much more helpful than Ethics Boards) be an effective way of helping improve software quality?

Working closely with leading software engineers and leading scientists1), we will find out what Software Engineering Boards need to be (if anything!), and how to get them to work well.

How to navigate this wiki

Like in any web site, you can follow highlighted (blue or green) web links, or you can use the breadcrumbs bar at the top of each page to go back to any page you've already looked at.

Also, you can click on the SEB logo (at the top left of every page) to get back here, or you can click on the Sitemap link (usually near the top right) to see the whole site and click to go anywhere.

The tools menu also has a Backlinks tool that will work out all the pages that refer to the page you are on. It is useful to go back to where you came from, or to find related pages.

If you want to learn more about wikis and how they work, and certainly if you want to contribute to this project, please look at this to get going.

1)
For this project, 'Scientists' means any researchers in any field using computer software to help do research.
